ChatGPT ads management, what you get each week

The deliverable is a list, not an adjective. Here is the list, the reason each item is on it, and what it costs at each spend tier.

Before anything runs

OpenAI's account setup has five steps: create the account, complete onboarding and identity verification, complete the account information, set up billing, invite team members1. Verification sits in a rolling queue that OpenAI says it cannot expedite, so we start it on day one.

  • Ads Manager account application with you, or an audit of the one you have
  • Identity verification support and the billing profile
  • OpenAI Pixel and Conversions API installed and tested
  • First campaign: structure, context hints, two ad groups, six ads
  • Tracking verified, then launched

The pixel and the Conversions API go in before the first dollar is spent, and we send a test event through each. A campaign that launches with broken attribution produces two weeks of data nobody can act on.

Every week

  • A delivery and pacing check against the seven day budget
  • One bid or budget decision, written down with the reason
  • A context hint revision
  • One new ad variant
  • A written report, sent Friday

The Friday report is written, not a dashboard link. It says what changed, what we learned, and what we will do next week, with the numbers from Ads Manager and from your analytics side by side. One variable changes at a time so that the next report can say what caused what.

Every month

  • Four new ads in total
  • A 30 minute call
  • Ads Manager reconciled against your own analytics
  • The change log for the month

Not included

  • Ad spend. OpenAI bills your card directly and the card must match your account country
  • Landing page builds, quoted separately
  • Video production
  • Organic visibility work in AI answers
  • A second Ads Manager account. Each account is its own plan

Questions about the service

Do you need access to my Ads Manager account?

Yes, as an invited team member. OpenAI's account setup lets the account owner invite users under Settings, then Users. You stay the owner. We never create the account in our own name, because the country, currency and legal entity chosen at creation cannot be changed later.

What is a context hint and why does it matter?

A context hint is text you give OpenAI at the ad group level describing the conversations, topics or keywords where your ad may be relevant. OpenAI says hints guide matching but are not exact match keywords and do not guarantee delivery. Writing and revising them is the closest thing this platform has to keyword work, and it is the weekly task we spend most time on.

Which campaign objectives exist?

As of the OpenAI Help Center pages read on 4 September 2026: Clicks, priced per click, Reach or Views, priced per thousand impressions, and conversion optimised campaigns, which OpenAI added in 2026. We start almost every account on Clicks with a maximum bid inside OpenAI's recommended USD 3 to 5 range, and move to conversion optimisation when the pixel has enough events.

How do you measure results?

With OpenAI's own reporting, which shows impressions, clicks, spend, click through rate, average cost per click, average cost per thousand and conversions, plus the OpenAI Pixel, the Conversions API and UTM parameters on every landing page URL so your own analytics see the same traffic. Each month we reconcile the two and report the gap, because there is always a gap.
