Opening an OpenAI Ads Manager account with us

OpenAI documents the five steps. This page is about the part the documentation cannot cover: what to have ready, what cannot be undone, and which of the steps we do for you.

The five steps OpenAI requires

  1. Create the account at ads.openai.com with an OpenAI login.
  2. Complete onboarding and identity verification through Persona: business name, website, logo, industry, country, currency and time zone.
  3. Complete account information: the account name and logo exactly as they will appear in the ad unit. Ads do not serve until this is done.
  4. Set up billing: a billing profile and a card whose country matches the account.
  5. Invite team members under Settings, then Users.

All five are from OpenAI's Ads Manager Beta Account Setup article1, read 4 September 2026. Step five is where we come in: you invite us, we never own the account.

What we need from you before step one

  • The legal name and country of the entity that will advertise. It decides the account country, and the account country cannot be changed later.
  • The card that will pay OpenAI, issued in that same country, with a billing address to match. OpenAI may not accept a card from another country.
  • The logo file and the exact business name you want shown in the ad unit.
  • Access to the website so the OpenAI Pixel and the Conversions API can be installed, or the name of whoever has it.
  • Your landing pages, reachable by OpenAI's crawler. OpenAI has a guidance article on allowing its web crawlers; a blocked landing page fails ad review.

What cannot be undone

Country, currency, time zone and the legal entity on the billing profile. OpenAI's own FAQ says they are tied to account setup and may not be editable after creation2. An account created in the wrong country has to be abandoned, and the verification queue starts again.

The email used to create the account. OpenAI says an address that has created one advertiser account cannot create another. If you will ever need a second account for a second brand, plan the addresses now.

What we do once we are in

Audit or build the structure, write the context hints, install and test the pixel and the Conversions API, set the first bids inside OpenAI's recommended USD 3 to 5 range, set the daily budget above the USD 25 floor and above the highest bid, upload the first six ads and submit them for review. Questions about setup

Can I change the country or currency of my Ads Manager account later?

No. OpenAI states that the country or region, billing currency and time zone selected at creation cannot be changed. If they are wrong you create a new account. This is why we ask for the registered entity and the card that will pay before anything is created.

How long does verification take?

OpenAI does not say. Applications sit in a rolling queue that OpenAI says it cannot expedite, and duplicate applications slow it down. We start it on day one of the engagement and build the tracking while we wait.

Can Chat Ads Pro open the account for me?

We open it with you, in your name, on a screen share or by checklist. The account must belong to the entity that advertises and pays, and the identity check through Persona is yours to complete. What we do alone is everything after access is granted.
